Humane Tech Support Queue
I’m sitting on hold with my website hosting company, Bluehost, waiting for tech support. Here’s a company that impresses me with its customer service, and here’s why:

Website Success
Second, Facebook. Why is Facebook so popular? Once again, it’s simple: curiousity, jealousy, etc. People love to check up on friends, show off to friends, etc. More so than anything, the Photos application has made Facebook what it is today. Knowing where and when you’re being tagged, along with the ability to find pictures of your friends is, simply put, completely targeted at human emotions. People can’t help but use it. THAT is compelling content. And best of all, it’s user-generated, AJAX-validated (ie, it fills in names based on your existing friends list) and virtually maintenance free. It’s really the perfect idea for traffic generation.

Thank You, Firefox
Firefox went to its knees under the load, but it survived until I could kill the window. Yay for popup blockers.

But if you’re using Firefox, which you should be instead of the annoying IE, you can use a script to do a quick fix and be able to access blogspot, wordpress, wikipedia, and livejournal.

500th Post
My most popular post is Test Driven Development with ASP.Net and the Model View Presenter Pattern, which is a bit ironic because I've even put up a warning message on that post pushing people to look at MonoRail or the MVC framework instead of the MVP pattern for web development. A couple months after that I read the Pragmatic Programmer's book on Ruby on Rails and I've hated that ASP.NET post ever since. If I had to pick my favorite post, I'd go with My Programming Manifesto.

Thanks For The Monetary Support
Every Malaysia blogger have had thanked Google at some point of their blogging journey (or career). Now, it’s my turn finally to be able to thank Google for their monetary donation in supporting my annual domain and website hosting.

Collaborative Data Gathering: Now Easy
Most of us have used the suite of tools under the Google Docs moniker to do all sorts of collaborative things. Giving us a web-based, multi-user version of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint has been a good thing. I’ve had my ups and downs with the tools since the Writely days, but I think in general they are a very powerful and flexible set of tools. This is so clear when working in committee or as a student working in teams — the idea that you don’t have to shuffle individual documents back and forth is an amazing benefit.
